New Construction – Wireless

The Best Buy Distribution Center in Missouri City is a 550,000-square-foot facility that supports over 70 retail locations across Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Operating around the clock with three shifts and more than 100 employees, the center handles large-volume, high-value inventory such as televisions and home appliances—requiring dependable, precision climate control for optimal operations.

Project Overview

In collaboration with GH Mechanical Services and general contractor EE Reed Construction, Convergentz provided a comprehensive upgrade to the building automation system (BAS), delivering a future-ready solution that enhances performance, usability, and energy efficiency.

System Highlights
  • Trane AirFi™ Wireless BAS: A fully integrated wireless control system that enables seamless communication and real-time monitoring across the facility.
  • Tracer™ Concierge Interface: A user-friendly touchscreen that allows facility operators to manage building systems with ease and efficiency.
    Optimized for Warehouse Environments:
  • Wireless infrastructure reduced the need for intrusive ceiling work in the expansive open-floor layout.
  • All seven rooftop units (RTUs) are connected via a single wireless interface, cutting down installation time.
  • System commissioning and troubleshooting were completed remotely by Convergentz engineers from the first floor, minimizing operational disruption.
Results

Through advanced wireless BAS technology, Convergentz delivered a smart, scalable, and cost-effective solution tailored to the demands of a high-throughput logistics hub—ensuring consistent environmental control, reduced downtime, and enhanced facility management.
