Building Retrofit
The Moody Gardens Aquarium, Rainforest and MG-3D Pyramids are part of Galveston Island’s attractions and was originally built in 1993. MEP Engineer: BURY Completed: 2017 Project Highlights: On the Moody Gardens Aquarium Pyramid Renovation, Convergentz completed a full retrofit of the entire airside system. Convergentz was challenged with keeping perfect tropical conditions in the Caribbean and South Pacific areas, while also performing a complete retrofit on the glycol chiller system, which provides the Antarctic penguin with the below-freezing conditions it needs. Convergentz also provided digital controls for all new hot and chilled water pumps. In addition, we brought the entire front end up to speed with top-quality 3D graphics running on the latest Trane Tracer SC platform. The Aquarium Pyramid has been a Texas institution for almost 20 years, but its brain is truly state-of-the-art!
