New Construction

Convergentz played a key role in the new construction of a 9-story medical laboratory facility at the University of Houston College of Pharmacy, delivering a fully integrated Building Automation System (BAS) designed for performance, efficiency, and scalability.

Scope of Work Included:

Seamless lighting integration and full automation of the expanded chiller plant, cooling towers, and heat exchangers
Installation of:

  • 4 tandem Air Handling Units (AHUs) for office spaces
  • 6 tandem laboratory AHUs
  • 3 radio-isotopic lab exhaust systems
  • 1 four-fan lab exhaust system
  • 2 stairwell pressurization systems
  • 400 fan-powered boxes
  • Integration with Siemens Laboratory Hood systems
  • Deployment of building power metering and an acid wash down ventilation system
  • System controls powered by Honeywell Spyder on JACE platforms with Niagara 4 (N4)
  • Web-based access and full integration with the existing campus-wide BAS network
